It's amazing when you Google SMF Fork that you receive results about all the discontent at SMF.  Since they are so unhappy and can't get along, they should just transfer the license to you two.  You guys are doing something worthwhile that those of who use SMF appreciate.  When lawyers get involved, it becomes a total nightmare.

Thanks Arantor.  The reason I'm looking into Buddypress is because I was having a very hard time getting my forum back up after I upgraded to 2RC3. At first, it upgraded fine.  However, when I started installing the mods, it crashed and I got a funky error.  The only way I was able to fix it was to delete all the files and install the old files and upgrade again.  The weird part was the next time I went to install the mods, a mod that had installed correctly the first go around crashed the site.  This happened multiple times and I was totally frustrated.  I am not a programmer and it was getting to the point where I wanted trash SMF because I wasn't sure I could get it to function properly.  I was hoping that I could use BP as a backup to the forum. That's when I started looking at WP and BP.  I would also like to have users be able to upload their videos directly to the site, which BP offers.

I still find glitches to the forum.

It is amazing that something like this would happen.  You all young pups.  I've gone over five hills.

Has anybody tried Buddypress on Wordpress?  There's a plugin that will import the SMF forums to Buddypress.  I haven't got the plugin to work because I keep getting this error:

SELECT ID_BOARD, name, description, boardOrder, numTopics, numPosts FROM smf_boards

Unknown column 'boardOrder' in 'field list'

Maybe I should change my user name to error.
